With his 12th album in his 25-year career, Canadian musician Poirier takes things a step further and expands his vision and craft with clarity. âQuiet Revolutionâ offers a comforting and intimate vibe where electronic and acoustic music fuse in a timeless way thanks to Poirier's delicate touch and arrangements. A sort of renewal in consistency, as he keeps the same mindset that guided him on his last album âSoft Powerâ; carry a specific emotion without superfluity. To describe his new album, Poirier says âit's the music of crossing pathsâ.
Tracks âMinha Liberdadeâ with Flavia Nascimento and âMi SoÌâ with Ely Swares transport the listener to Brazil and to the shores of Cabo Verde while both âCantĂĄndoteâ with Jimena Angel and âAgua Oroâ with Ramon Chicharron bring the vibe of Colombia. Sounds of West Africa radiates from âWiliâ, fusing tradition and Afro House with Malian singer Djely Tapa. Party's on with the uptempo funky âPaid Our Duesâ with Montrealer Paul Cargnello and when itâs time to slow down and cuddle up, âTout douxâ with JĂ©rĂŽme MiniĂšre sets the mood. The reflective and nostalgic "El Tiempo Pasa" closes the album. Yes, time and music pass, like quiet revolutions.
